Pick 6

How to play

How to play Pick 6

Pick 6 is college fantasy football where you draft teams, not players. Start a private league with friends, draft five teams in a live snake draft, and score every week on wins and upsets. After the draft there is no lineup to set: your teams play, you score.

  1. 1

Start a league, or join one

Make a free account and start a league. You are the commissioner: you get a six-character join code and a link to send to your group. A league holds 4 to 16 players and is private to the people you invite.

Got a code from someone else? Make an account, type it in, and you are on the board.

  2. 2

Draft five teams, one per slot

The draft is live, on your phone or laptop: a snake draft with a pick clock, five rounds long. Everyone fills the same five slots.

    • SEC
    • Big Ten
    • ACC + ND
    • Big 12
    • Group of 6

No two players in a league can own the same team, so nobody can stack the SEC and every roster covers the whole country. Queue the teams you want ahead of time. If your clock runs out, autopick takes the top team in your queue, then the best team left by AP ranking.

  3. 3

    Score every week

Each of your teams scores once per game, from the result and the pre-game point spread. Taking a live underdog pays more than taking the obvious favorite.

    +1
    Win
As the favorite, a small underdog, or with no line.
    +2
    Upset win
Win as an underdog of +3.5 or more.
    0
    Loss
Any loss inside the window or with no line.
    −1
    Bust
Lose as a favorite of −3.5 or more.

A sample week: three of one player's teams. An underdog wins, a favorite loses, a favorite wins. That is +2, −1 and +1, so +2 for the week.

      vs LSU (+6.5)Upset W+2
    • Big Ten
      Oregon
      @ Penn State (-3.5)Bust L-1
    • Group of 6

Scores and lines come in on their own. One leaderboard adds it all up, all season.

  4. 4

Make one swap before week 6

Drafted a dud? During week 5 you rank the swaps you would take: one of your teams for a team nobody owns, in the same slot. Your list is private.

When week 6 starts, every league's swaps run at once, worst record first, so the player at the bottom gets first choice. Weeks already played stay scored as they were.

  5. 5

Play your bowl in the final week

The last week of the season is also played head to head. Everyone gets a bowl game against the player next to them in the standings: 1 plays 2, 3 plays 4, and so on down. Most points that week wins the bowl.

It is for bragging rights. The league champion is still whoever has the most points over the whole season.

  6. 6

    Fill out a Playoff bracket

Bowl games and the College Football Playoff score nothing, but the Playoff decides who drafts first next season. Everyone in the league fills out the 12-team bracket, and the best bracket gets the first pick.
